Heather House is situated on the north side of the city in a residential area about 2 miles from the centre of Cork city on the campus of St. Mary.s Health Camus (formerly St. Mary Orthopedic Hospital in Gurranbraher).

Heather House Community Nursing Unit is a two-storey, new purpose-built designated centre opened in April 2011. This nursing unit is for the care of Older Persons who require long stay care.

A computer/telephone/resource room is located off the main corridor area and will provide computer and telephone access for residents.

Patio doors from the dining room open up on to a large patio area and then into an enclosed garden area with some raised flower beds and garden furniture.
At the other end of the building is a sitting room which also has access to an enclosed garden.
