St Augustine’s was built in 1981 and had under gone a programme of refurbishment over the years. There is a reception located inside the main entrance.

St Augustine’s is a community nursing unit under the management of the Health Service Executive (HSE).

Dependent people who need long term care, people who have dementia care needs and those who need respite care are admitted.

The centre also provides a day care service five days a week for a maximum of nine people each day from the community.

The residents attending for day care integrate with the residents living in the centre by joining them for their meals and participating in the activities.

There is a safe enclosed garden provided with seating. All entrance and exit doors were ramped ensuring ease of access for residents.

The driveway and immediate perimeter is covered in tarmac.
There is car parking space available to the side of the building, to include a designated disabled parking space close to the main entrance.

The centre is located in the town of Ballina. There is a pedestrian footpath leading to the church, shops and business facilitates located close by.
