The Community Hospital for the Elderly is situated on the outskirts of Thurles town. It is a single storey building opene in February 2006.

The hospital campus consists of three distinct nursing units and a day hospital.

The Community Hospital of the Assumption is a single-storey purpose-built centre, which opened in 2006.
It is built on the grounds of the Hospital of the Assumption which it replaced.

It has 67 places and a day hospital with 12 day places.

It provides rehabilitation, respite care, assessment care (for review of issues such as skin care), palliative care andresidential care.

There are several well maintained, secure garden areas, with walkways and areas.

Treatment and consultation rooms are available by the multidisciplinery team.
