Dean Maxwell Community Nursign Unit is situated in the heart of the Roscrea community.

The unit was first established in 1974 and has evolved and expanded to its present service level .

They believe that the facilitation of a healthy fulfilled life is at the core of all these activities with an appropriate emphasis on keeping in touch with family friends and community.

The Dean Maxwell Community Nursing Unit is a single-storey, purpose-built centre, providing care for 35 people over the age of 65 years, some of whom have dementia.

The centre accommodates 29 older people with continuing care needs and four of these beds are allocated to respite care and two further places for palliative care.
The day service caters for an additional twenty people and is fully integrated into the residential service.
The centre has seventeen single bedrooms, two of which have en suite shower facilities.
